Description

Guinness has always been particular about its glass, and the current design is a tulip pint: tall, slightly flared towards the top, with the gold harp on the front and a sculpted relief moulded into the back that catches the light through the dark beer.

The shape serves the famous two-part pour. A nitrogenated stout surges and settles, and a gently flared glass gives the cascade room to fall and the creamy head a wide enough surface to sit on. Fill to about three-quarters at a 45-degree angle, let it settle completely, then top up.

Note on volume: this is a 50cl glass with a foam line, not a full imperial pint. It is sized for the half-litre pours you get across most of Europe. Sold as a single glass.
