Description
Most Belgian brewery glasses are chalices or tulips. The official Dominicains glass is the exception: a round balloon bowl that curves back in toward the rim, on a short stem. It is about as close to a classic snifter as Belgian beer gets.
That shape does exactly what a snifter should for a strong, malty beer. The wide bowl lets a tripel, dubbel or quadrupel breathe and warm gently in your hand, and the inward curve at the top traps the caramel, dried fruit and spice aromas instead of letting them drift off.
33cl, with fill lines at 25cl and 33cl, sold as a single glass. Made for the Dominicains tripel, dubbel and quadrupel, and just as good for any strong Belgian ale you want to linger over.
